How do I Order?
You are able to buy our stock hair which is pre made and ready to ship straight away. Stock hair is available in 10 colours and comes in 6" inches length with a slight wave for texture.
All of our bespoke hair is hand made to order. As every aspect of our hair can be customised, from colour, density, texture to wave, we advise booking a consultation with us to achieve the best results . In the consultation one of our experts will guide you through the process, complete your design and start the production process if you are ready to move forward..
How long is production?
Covid edit: Due to the knock on affect of the global pandemic unfortunately our production times have been delayed to 12-16 weeks. We are working hard to reduce this and get back to our standard lead times. We apologies for any inconvenience.
The complete process for new orders can take between 6-10 weeks (depending on the complexity of the design). If you want your hair before a big event (e.g wedding), please let us know at the beginning on the process. We will always try our best to accommodate a slight rush (where possible).
Stock units are subject to stock availability, stock levels are replenish frequently, if for any reason your unit is not available please contact us.
Do I need a consultation to order hair?
Absolutely not! If you don't want to wait and know you already want our hair, you can simply place your order for a stock unit here. You can then customise the unit yourself. For those who want to find out more, please feel free to book an initial consultation. For customised units a design consultation is strongly advised and can be booked here.
I can't find my colour when placing my order?
We get asked this alot! All of our customised hair is 100% bespoke. After placing your order a consultant will reach out to you to arrange a online design consultation. This is when you discuss customising your hair including, size, colour, density, wave% etc.
How long can I wear the hair for?
Unlike a wig, our hair does not spend the night on a hat stand, once attached you can wear up to 6 weeks at a time. We do however, recommend removing every 3-4 weeks for a re-groom (clean). Your consultant will take you through this process.
Can I shower/ swim in it?
Yes! One thing we were passionate about was being able to do normal things while wearing our hair. If however, you're kind of a big deal in the swimming pool and swim excessively then we would advise a more regular re-groom.
How long do they last?
Each bespoke design has an average lifespan of 3-6 months before a replacement is needed. Depending on how well they are cared for some clients have made them last up to a year.
Stock units have a similar lifespan as long as the base is not altered, as soon as alterations are made (cut to size) the lifespan will shorten to around 3 months.
Can I use styling products?
Yes you can, we advise using lightweight water based products styling foam and hairsprays to hold shape. Avoid heavy duty waxes and always ensure if using any products that you wash/ wet the hair before trying to comb it out.
Maintenance sessions (Re-grooms)
We advise on average that you remove the design to clean and replace the adhesive every 3-4 weeks.
This can sometime vary depending on how active your lifestyle is, the more active the more frequently a maintenance session is advised.
Maintenance re-groom services are available in salon and cost £70 per session.
Can I do the re-groom myself?
Yes, we encourage every client to learn how to complete the maintenance themselves in the comfort of their own home. Each maintenance session will take between 30-45 minutes.
Will it ever fall off?
No! As long as you replace the glue as instructed (depending on the adhesive you're using) every 3-4 weeks, the hair will be securely fixed and won't come off without using the solvent release spray.
As previously mentioned if you're extremely active you may need to complete maintenance sessions more frequently to ensure a secure fixing. Edges may begin to lift slightly as an indication a maintenance session is due.
Will it damage my natural hair?
No, all our adhesives are medically treated and skin safe, allowing your scalp to breath and not affect natural hair growth or increase the rate of hair loss - yey!
How do I clean it?
You can shower as normal, you do not need any special shampoos or conditioning treatments. All we advise is you do not scrub the hair. As there is no natural oil reaching the hair from your follicles it does not get greasy. Scrubbing causes the hair to dry out quicker and can cause matting. Combing through conditioner is advised to keep the hair fresh with occasional shampooing.
We also advise using a leave in conditioning spray to supply moisture throughout the lifespan of the hair.
Hair by Quiff® VS Custom
When placing your first order you have two options, stock hair (Hair by Quiff®) and customised orders. The only difference is how we create the size, shape of the base and hairline. All other options including colour, density, texture, wave% are still fully customizable for both.
Our 'stock hair' works on our standard shape/contour but using your measurements. All custom orders will have their hair designed from a template. The temporary template can be created yourself during design consultation and shipped to us.
How much does it all cost?
The initial cost can vary depending on the package you choose. If you opt for 'hair only' the total cost will be £500.
If you choose our perfect fit package this includes a full bespoke design consultation, template and contour measurements. The total cost will be £800.
All replacements cost £800 when having 2 or more in a year.
Will I be charged any duties or tax for my order?
Various import duties and taxes may be charged by the local customs office, when goods are imported into the customer's local country. It is worth noting that the customs duty & import charges are often called government charges as they are imposed by the government and are outside of Quiff & Co's control.
It is the responsibility of the customer placing the order (recipient of the goods) to pay any local import taxes and duties.
